Event Details

Madelein Mkunu is coming from South Africa to London to take part in the G8 - Africa Infrastructure Investment Conference next week. Madelein has been invited to represent the women of Africa at this major economic conference and is bringing with her a huge delegation of about 60 business women from Africa.

Madelein is the founder of Leading Women of Africa, a Pan African forum uniting women leaders in order to find ways to contribute to the maintenance of peace and stability in the continent through unity and the economic empowerment of women. After connecting with Madelein, I invited her to speak at the Women's Business Wisdom Retreat which I hosted in the Healthy Home last year and participants were deeply moved by her energy, passion and sharing. Following that event Madelein asked me to join the International Board of Leading Women of Africa. I am honoured to be a witness to her important work.

Madelein has decided to stay in London for an extra day after speaking at this major event and I'd love to connect you with this extraordinary woman, some of her team and her work.   I am hosting a supper for Madelein at my central London home on Wednesday July 1st when she will talk about their initiatives for women and the economy of Africa. She is looking for partnerships for projects, financial investors for initiatives in Africa and of course links with women's organsiations and women leaders who feel moved to connect and think they might be able to support her.  Please think about any connections that you think might be useful.

The focus of this small, informal gathering will be a discussion of the empowerment of women and their role in economic growth in Africa, and beyond. Whilst we could simply have a women-only evening (and it may end up that way) we very warmly welcome any men who feel moved to join us for this evening.  My home has played host to many an interesting visitor to London and a wonderful community of like-minded folk usually gathers and connects.

Click here to book - the charge covers supper and refreshments.

Visit the Leading Women of Africa website for more about their work.

Read her entry on the 1000womencanchangetheworld website.

Join us Wednesday evening.  Supper will be served at 6.30pm, discussions will start at 7.30pm. We will aim to complete by 10pm.   last minute callers please contact me on 07802 33 11 12
